Cat D1
A Minibus up to 16 passenger seats is also known as PCV.
You need to be at least 18 years old to obtain this licence. You will need to have a medical so you can apply for the provisional entitlement on your licence. We can arrange a medical for you and help you complete all of the forms to apply for your provisional entitlement. You will then need to complete two theory tests; a multiple choice and a hazard perception, which we can also arrange for you.
We recommend that you come in for an assessment drive once you have your provisional licence back so you can see exactly how many days training you require and obtain an accurate quotation.
Once you have obtained your Cat D1 licence you will then be able to apply for your Cat D1+E or your Cat D (Coach / Bus licence).
After passing your Cat D1 test either you or the DSA examiner will post your licence along with a copy of your pass certificate to the DVSA. When your licence is returned to you, the provisional entitlement for the D1+E (D1E) will automatically show online You do not have to sit another theory test for the D1+E.
Your licence will be valid until your 45th birthday when the DVLA will send you a renewal and a medical form.
Please contact us if you require a renewal medical.
